Rochester, Minn. (KTTC) – Cold air pours into the region today in front of an area of high pressure in the northern plains. Expect sunshine, then cloud covers today with fast north wind and high temperatures in teens. That’s about ten degrees colder than the seasonal average. Valk cooling values will be subzero for most of the day.

A storm system from the West gives a chance of light snow starting around lunch time on Wednesday. When warmer air is mixed on high, freezing rain will develop, especially south of Interstate 90. This can create smooth spots on roads and highways to the evening commuting. Less than an empty snowfall is expected with a smaller coating of ice on some surfaces. High temperatures tomorrow will be in the upper 20s with a southeastern breeze.

After a few bright and seasonable cold days to end the work week, another storm system brings snow to the region on Saturday. Expect widespread accumulation from mid -morning.
