Back-to-back ice storms threaten millions from Midwest to Northeast

Kansas City, Mo. – – Fox Forecast Center monitors the development of a strong winter storm that has tens of thousands of millions of people over at least 22 states from the midwest to the northeast on duty on a widespread threat of freezing rain that has already led to several reports of icy roads and goes down.

Training travel conditions are reported in parts of Kansas and Missouri, where officials said there have been several reports of stopped vehicles and crashes from Topka, Kansas, to Kansas City, Missouri.

Officials say the biggest effects have been seen on busy highways such as Interstate 35, Interstate 70 and Interstate 435.

Fox Forecast Center said that when the storm gathers strength, the influences will begin to be seen from the Mid-missippi valley on Wednesday and then into the Great Lakes region before Wednesday night.

Because of this, pendants on Thursday morning are expected to be extremely dangerous on untreated roads and highways in cities like ChicagoAt Fort WayneAt Indianaand Columbus and Cleveland in Ohio.

Winter weather counseling has been issued throughout the region and includes major cities such as Kansas City, Des Moines, Iowa and Chicago.

Fox Forecast Center said that dangerous travel conditions appear to be the greatest influence of this storm in these locations. This is because prognosis believes that ice cream meters above the midwest must remain low enough for only scattered power cuts to occur.

Temperatures are expected to climb over freezing during the day on Thursday and quickly melts any ice cream that was built up during the storm. However, Refriezing will be a concern when we enter Thursday night.

Areas to the east will see the highest potential for significant glaze – especially in parts of Maryland and into Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania.

Power cuts and wooden damage are probably in these places, as ice ismitations are larger than a quarter inch and perhaps as high as half an inch is possible.

Winter Weather Alerts has also been issued throughout the region, including Ice Storm warnings.

Is Storm warnings have been issued in four states, with National Weather Service Office in Charleston, West Virginia, issuing its first Ice Storm warning of three years.

“Travel is strongly discouraged,” Forecasts warned. “If you are going to travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in the event of an emergency. Prepare for power cuts.”

Outside of this region, freezing of rain is expected to fall along the busy Interstate 95 -corridor from Washington up through southern New England.

Fox Forecast Center said that from New York City Area north will the cold air be deep enough for snow to be a concern during the beginning of Winter weather.

Cities like New York City, HartfordAt Connecticutand Boston could see snow fall in the middle of the commuting Thursday morning.

It could destroy the roads on the roads, but the Fox Forecast Center said that much like the midwest, hot air will move in and change the snow to either freezing rain or ordinary rain.

Any snow that is left will almost completely melt.

But further north over northern New England, the snow continues through the day on Thursday and may not change across the north of Interstate 90. Fox Forecast Center said that locations that pick up 6 inches of snow or more would probably be found there.

The system then quickly leaves New England before Thursday night and leaves mainly dry conditions in its wake on Thursday night and Friday.

Fox Forecast Center said another, even stronger storm is expected this weekend.

The storm is also expected to bring freezing rain to almost the same areas that are affected during this first storm.

However, Fox Forecast Center said there will be a big difference – this one will pack much more snow.

Heavy snow looks increasingly likely on Saturday over the top Midwest and Great Lakes -Region.

Cities like Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Detroit could see their biggest blizzard so far this winter.

This storm will reach the northeast Saturday night and produce another round of snow, gossip and freezing rain.

Fox Forecast Center said that much like this first storm, Pennsylvania again seems to be in the bull’s eye too much effective ice cream.

Rain looks likely in Ohio Valley and Appalachians. Potentially heavy rain will be most worrying in the central Appalachians, and some floods are possible.
