Crash reported as first of back-to-back ice storms ramps up with millions from Midwest to Northeast On Guard

Fox Forecast Center monitors the development of a strong Winter Storm that have tens of thousands of millions of people over at least 22 states from Midwest to Northeast on duty about a widespread threat of Freezing rain It has already led to several reports of icy roads and crashes.

Treacherous travel There are reported conditions in parts of Kansas and Missouriwith officials who say there have been more reports of stopped vehicles and crashes from TopekaKansas, to Kansas CityMissouri.

The effects of this storm begin in the Mid-missippi valley on Wednesday and spread in the Great Lakes region on Wednesday night before pushing into the northeast Thursday.

And an even stronger storm is expected to affect almost the same regions this weekend.

Atmospheric river begins to weaken but another one is on the way

Northern California catches a short break from a Multiday atmospheric river event that brought heavy rain, flooding and high winds to areas around and north of San Francisco.

The same event brought snow to the mountains and higher heights in northern California and the northwest Pacific.

According to Fox Forecast Center, the rain is expected to drain Wednesday and switch to southern California. Meanwhile, another atmospheric river -driven storm will affect northern California and the Northwest Pacific, starting Thursday morning.

This event is expected to be somewhat less effective than the high wind and mud lids on Tuesday, causing a home to collapse in Sonoma County, California.
