First Alarm Weather Day: Strong storm risk today

Nashville, Tenn. (WSMV) – First Alarm Weather Day – Late Today and Tonight

A few showers are expected to develop through the morning commuting today, but everything early in the day is expected to be on the lighter side.

In the afternoon and evening is the best chance to see a few strong thunderstorms over the middle. Not everyone ends up watching thunderstorms today so we do not expect a widespread hard weather breach

There is the overall serious threat low, only 1/5 along and north of I-40, but any storm that develops can produce heavy rain and wind throw near or above 40 km/h.

The tornado threat is low, but it is not zero, so we will not completely exclude a quick spin-up tornado as well.

Temperatures rise on Wednesday from the 40s, up the 50s and into the 60s.
