Maryland Weather: VINTRY -Mix to ice begins tonight

Baltimore– A few flurries and snow showers are possible today. A winter storm with gossip and freezing rain begins tonight and continues into the early Thursday morning before switching to rain.

ONE WJZ FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY Has been issued from 1 p.m. 21 Today until 7 p.m. 10 Thursday for a winter mix that will quickly change to freezing rain. This will create a coating of ice and smooth to smooth travel conditions overnight tonight through part of the commute on Thursday morning. Delays in school and travel will be possible in some of our area on Thursday morning before the ice switches to rain. Rain ends around lunch time. At this point, the biggest travel impacts are expected overnight tonight in the early Thursday morning. The second winter storm, in a series of three, is expected to arrive on Saturday. This weather producer brings another round of winter weather on Saturday afternoon and evening. Although it is still too early to determine accurate quantities, a mixture of freezing rain, gossip and snow is probably before switching to plan rain late Saturday night. Smooth to hard travel is possible, especially on elevated and untreated surfaces on Saturday afternoon until late Saturday night.
