William “Butch” Harold Mobley, 80, from Villa Rica, Georgia took her last breath on Friday, January 31, 2025 at home from heart failure. He had been at the home hospice care for a few months.

Butch grew up in Savannah, Georgia, where he trained from Savannah High School in 1963. He then participated and graduated from southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC. As an adult, he taught 2 years at Daniel High School in Clemson, SC. In 1968 he began working at the World Book Encyclopedia/Childcraft as sales representative and later district manager. In 1980 he began working for the New York Life Insurance Company as a coach. He retired from New York Life after 22 years.

During Butch’s life, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, reading and telling others about Jesus. He also enjoyed playing games and told endless stories to his 4 grandchildren. Some of his favorite things to see were Atlanta Braves, Andy Griffith Show, Westerns & Fox News. He also enjoyed listening and singing to Christian songs – especially the classic hymns. Butch spent much of his life with volunteering in different ministries through Bible studies or advice to others.

Butch goes into the death of his parents Clem and Grace Mobley; Sister Janice Stegall and brother, Richard Mobley.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy J Davenport Mobley; Sister, Rebecca Woodard; His sons Scott (Wendy) and Steve (Becky) Mobley; Grandchildren – Deborah, Daniel, Joanna (Nick), Nathan; grandson, Aurora and several nephews.

The family receives friends on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 13:00 to 14:00 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral Councils are carried out at. 14:00 on February 9, 2025 from the Villa Rica Chapel on Jones-Wynn. Interment will follow in West Georgia Memorial Park.
