Mitch McConnell, 82, falls into the Senate Stairs after confirmation vote

Moments after Mitch McConnell voted to confirm President Donald Trump’s election for skin secretary, 82-year-old Kentucky senator fell down the stairs, according to several reports.

Tchad Pergram, Senior Conventional correspondent for Fox News Channel, also confirmed the news On x That McConnell was helped by his colleagues after falling into the Senate’s stairs. Pergram said he had just voted to confirm Scott Turner to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Igor Bobic, a senior Huffpost reporter, added additional insight into McConnell’s well-being On x Shortly after the fall.

“McConnell fell again outside the Senate Chamber,” Bobic wrote, “but was able to get up. He is in the Gop lunch now and stood. His colleagues are curled around him.”

People reached out to McConnell’s spokesman for comment on his condition, but did not hear back immediately.

Wednesday’s incident is the latest in a series of tripping involving the long -standing Republican Senate leader in the last few years. Most recently, McConnell fell on the US Capitol in December while leaving a Senate GOP lunch, according to several reports.

At that time, The hill reported that McConnell had spoken during lunch, hosting the Senate Republican conference chairman John Barrasso from Wyoming. Barrasso allegedly escorted McConnell back to his office after the incident, where he was followed by a medical team with a wheelchair.

A helper responded to the politician during the incident and repeated the question. As McConnell continued to remain not reacting, another aid approached him. The senator recovered moments later and moved on to the next question.

A spokesperson said at the time, “Leader McConnell felt immediately fired and paused during his press conference today.” An aid also shared, “While he is well, as a cautious measure, the manager will consult a doctor before his next event.”
