50501 protests in Boston State House, Concord NH Wednesday – NBC Boston

A movement to oppose the early actions of President Donald Trump’s administration starts online with plans to protest in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and across the United States on Wednesday.

The movement has organized itself under the hashtags #buildThersistance and #50501, which stands for 50 protests, 50 states, one day. Many of the protests are planned on state capitals with some in other cities.

The movement has sites and accounts across social media. Flyers, circulating the online Decry Project 2025, a tough-right Playbook for US Government and Society, and includes messages such as “Reject Fascism” and “Defend our Democracy.”

Protests are scheduled for dinner Wednesday in state houses in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and several other New England states.

A large crowd was already gathered outside the Massachusetts State House before 7 p.m. 11.30 pm

In New Hampshire, the Concord City Democrats urged anyone who participates in “being careful” as the protest is a grassroots effort and was organized independently of their organization.

Local Democrats announced that they have canceled the event scheduled for Maines State House “Out of an abundance of caution” because it had been “infiltrated by bad actors who want to spread hatred, wrong information and turmoil.”

“We have drawn our permission with the Capitol police, and anyone who shows up will be considered on their own,” said Kennebec County Democratic Committee in a Facebook post.

Trump has signed a series of executive orders in the first few weeks of his new period on everything from trading and immigration to Climate change. As Democrats Start raising their voice Unlike Trump’s agenda, protests have also begun.
