Maryland Weather: Wintry Mix overnight; More winter -right weather Saturday

Baltimore– An active weather pattern is formed over the area in the next week, with more storm systems bringing opportunities for winter weather.

The first of these storms arrives tonight. ONE Winter Storm Warning Staying in effect for Father Western Maryland, including Garrett, Allegany and Washington counties. ONE Winter weather advisory is in force for most of the state except far southern Maryland and the lower eastern coast. This advice remains in place from late tonight until early Thursday morning.

Heaven tonight will mostly be cloudy. Later tonight, bumps with gossip begin to move into the region. Temperatures hovers around freezing, but as the rainfall increases in cover and intensity after midnight, temperatures fall slightly during freezing. This allows icy spots to develop on roads, making conditions smooth and dangerous late tonight through early Thursday morning.

Areas north and west of Baltimore have the highest chance of significant isaccumulation with up to a quarter of an inch possible in some places. In the Baltimore area, up to a tenth of an empty ice cream is expected. Areas south of Baltimore will look a little to no ice, with only a short period of smooth roads early in the morning before switching to rain.

The worst driving conditions are expected after 1 am and will continue through sunrise. Temperatures will gradually rise over freezing as the morning progresses, with the Baltimore area heated over 32 degrees between 06:00 and 7 Areas further north will be heated in the middle of the morning. Most of the region will be above freezing with lingering rain at late morning. The rain moves to the east at early afternoon leaving dry conditions for the rest of the day. High temperatures will rise in the mid -40s, allowing for rapid melting of ice throughout the region.

The end of the week looks like quietWith windy conditions and sunshine expected on Friday. High temperatures Friday afternoon come near near 50 degrees.

The next storm system arrives Saturdaythat brings the best chances of mixed rainfall during the afternoon and evening. Slick travel conditions may develop in parts of the region but there is still some uncertainty With regard to the extent of rainfall coverage. High temperatures on Saturday reaching only mid -30sWith temperatures climbing back near 50 degrees Sunday afternoon when we remain in between storm systems.

The last storm of this series arrives early next week. This system seems to come in two parts, with an initial wave that brings a chance of Snow on Monday. This may lead to some Accumulations over the entire region.

The second wave arrives on Tuesday. With warmer air high, the chance of one VINTRY MIX increases over the area. The best chances of all snow will be north and west of Baltimore. In the city, precipitation is likely to start as snow before you change to a mixture of Freezing rain and gossip. Depending on the traces of the storm there may be a period of All rain Before rainfall ends late Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.
