Team News: Arteta’s semi -final second leg | Team news | News

Mikel Arteta has named the same page that beat Manchester City 5-1 on Sunday for our Carabao Cup semi-final second stage at Newcastle United.

The boss has decided to stick to the 11 players who achieved one of our greatest results ever in the Premier League story for the game on Tyneside as we seem to overturn the 2-0 lead that Magpies built up on Emirates Stage four weeks ago.

Mikel has also chosen the same XI that started that game, which means Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz are in attack, while Thomas Partey, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard make up the midfield trio.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is on a left-back with our usual centerback partnership between Gabriel and William Saliba, with Jurrien tree at right-back and David Raya between the posts.

Eddie Howe meanwhile made two changes from the team that lost 2-1 to Fulham on Saturday.

Joelinton picked up an injury in this game and is out of the Matchday trop, with Sven Botman coming into the side, which could indicate a shift to a rear five, while Kieran Trippier is preferred rather than Tino Livramento at right back.

As for the team that started the first leg, Bruno Guimaraes and Fabian Schar are included this time with ex-funnner Joe Willock on the bench, where he gets along with the recurring Callum Wilson.
