Jurassic World Rebirths Mutante Dinosaur looks absolutely awful

After the complete disaster it was Jurassic World: Locust Invasionthat brings Jurassic Franchise back to prominence would require the call for a large dose of inspiration. And it seems, Jurassic World Rebirth Maybe have done just that. The new trailer reveals that this summer’s seventh film will take place on the island, where John Hammond and his team left all dinosaurs who were too messy and dangerous to enter the original park. Since we know we know what the less cluttered and dangerous dinosaurs ended up doing, it’s a scary concept.

One of the most tempting revelations in the trailer is what we can only assume is the great bad dinosaur in the film, which is a kind of damn dino-mutation. Talking to Vanity FairDirector Gareth Edwards (already well versed in monsters thanks to working with Godzilla and Darth Vader) teased this new creation for the film. “When you make a creature, you get a big, massive pot and you pour your favorite monsters from other movies and books,” he said. “Some Rancor went in there, some Hr Giger went in there, a little T. Rex went in there …” Wait, then he says there’s a T-Rex-inspired dinosaur similar to Rancoren from Return by Jedi and xenomorph from Alien? Yes. Yes, he is. And here are a few quick glimpses of it.

So this dinosaur, no matter what it is called, of course almost has the head and face of Star Wars Rancor, and it seems to be moving like giggers alien, but with the size of T-Rex. At least that’s what we get from these short moments in the trailer. Plus, don’t forget, this is just one of the many, many dinosaur in the trailer, most of which are clear fan favorites (like Velociraptor, Dilophosaurus and Mosasaurus), and some of them are brand new.

All in all, if Jurassic World Rebirth can deliver on even half of the frightened and intensity of this trailer, maybe we can start forgetting Dominion. The film opens July 2nd.
