Rating of Jonas Valančiūnas -trade: Why kings earn a loud brand by adding wizard’s center

In what is both unexpected and a little random, Sacramento Kings has acquired center of Jonas Valančiūnas from Washington Wizards recently acquired Sidy Cissoko and two second round choices.

Let’s judge the trade:

First a little household. The kings were able to move from cissoko this soon because he was not packed with another player.

(This should be mentioned when more teams are looking for potentially moving pieces that are recently acquired, so if it is to become a theme before tomorrow’s time, it’s good to get that bit of info out of the way.)

Valančiūnas is not a player who has been heavily involved in trade rumors, although his name has come up with regard to both Lakers and Warriors in the previous stages of the season.

Now he is a king and he provides a very effective addition from the bench considering his scoring skill and elite rebounding capabilities.

Valančiūnas plays only 20.1 minutes per day. Fight this season and nets 11.5 points and 8.2 rebounds in the limited excursions.

For a Kings team that has to rely almost exclusively on Domanta’s Sabonis to rebound – which he himself does at a ridiculous elite level – his compatriot Valančiūnas creates a necessary and very important, inclusion to the schedule.

The Lithuanian duo will undoubtedly seize a significant part of the team’s rebounds during the rest of the season, and both will offer hard screens to newly acquired Zach Availer to use.

While we can discuss all day long, whether the kings should have rebuilt as opposed to staying competitive, they at least chose one direction and get a quality to add the specific path.

This feels like a rock -solid A, considering how the kings have chosen to continue.

As for Washington, the two second round and Cissoko are getting worth being a flyer. This is not unlike the previous addition of the day when they went to AJ Johnson and draft equity from Milwaukee Bucks in Khris Middleton-Kyle Kuzma-SWAP.

This is on a par with the course for the reconstruction guides, and it rightly. They do not have any urgency of being competitive, and using the contract with Valančiūnas to become both younger and replenishing their draft cabinet is just logical, good business.

Adding Cissoko to a list that already has other Frenchmen Bilal Coulibaly and Alexandre Sarr will certainly be appreciated by the former spur who never fully broken the rotation in San Antonio and is now looking for a new shot.

With the other half of the season already in progress, now is the time for Washington to throw some things on the wall and see what is clinging. Cissoko is least worth throwing or two for the rest of the year.

Wizards did a solid job here so B+ seems like a fair character considering their situation.
