Which schools are delayed or closed in new, NJ and CT Thursday? – NBC New York

A number of school districts have issued delays to Thursday morning prior to a winter storm forecast to bring snow, gossip and Isacculation to the Tri-State area.

Schools in New York and New Jersey, including Harrison, Montclair, Orange, Passaic and Secaucus, have decided to have a delayed opening Thursday with roads predicted to be slushy and icy for the morning commuting, especially in several internal areas.

Many schools and businesses in Connecticut have advertised plans to close Thursday.

A winter weather advice is set to take effect Wednesday night prior to snow, gossip, ice cream and finally rain, which causes Thursday morning to commute to a mess.

The advice is for the entire Tri-State area, except for eastern Suffolk County on Long Island and immediately along the coast of Jersey Shore.

The glaze amounts are not disastrous; In places where ice is accumulated, it adds up to less than a tenth of an inch area where most people get no more than a thin glaze.

But even a light amount of ice can make the journey particularly problematic. If a surface looks wet, there is a good chance that it is actually ice cream.

When everything is said and done, about 1 to 2 inches of snow will add over large parts of New Jersey and into the Hudson Valley.
