DOGE WILL KEEP LIMITED ACCESS TO THE TAX CASE SYSTEM WITH 2 ASSOCIATED BUSINESS WITH ‘SIGNOOKED’ VIEW

Two employees of the Treasury Department affiliated with Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency will keep limited access to the very sensitive payment system within the Agency after emergency cases on Wednesday, which arose as a result of privacy over Dog’s access to the system.

The Trump administration accepted the restriction that the two state employees have “Read-Only” access to the system and will not share it with others working with DOGE, says a new submission of the court. A federal judge still has to sign the proposal, but signaled earlier on the day she would be willing to do so.

The proposal would hold the status quo since DOGE sent two special government employees to the Ministry of Finance, Tom Krause and Marko Elez, who both came from tech jobs to Washington since Donald Trump joined.

Trade unions representing federal workers had sued after reporting, including from CNN, that DOGE had sought access to the system that distributed $ 5 trillion in government payments a year. It also distributes important payments that deal with sensitive personal data from Americans, including for tax returns, social security and federal workers.

The next hearing in the case is set until the end of the month.

During a hearing on access earlier Wednesday, Judge Colleen tried to Kollar-Kotelly from the DC District Court to seam how Musk and his Doge team gain access to the department’s sensitive payment system.

But government attorneys gave some details of Dog’s mission and had few final answers.

Attorneys for the Ministry of Justice told Collar-Kotelly that Musk himself and the White House had not seen copies of the sensitive personal data contained in the department’s payment system that federal workers have feared.

“Not that I’m aware of,” the doj lawyer, Brad Humphreys, uncovered at the hearing on Wednesday.

“I don’t know if I can say nothing has been done,” with items in the system, Humphreys said, adding that the Ministry of Justice does not believe that Americans’ privacy has been broken at this time.

The consultation is one of the first in which Musk’s attempts to re -record the federal government via DOGE and his technology -focused affiliated companies have been investigated. The court’s procedures are likely to draw more answers in the coming days about DOGE and one of its most explosive forums in the inner work of the federal government.

The Treasury payment system distributes Americans ‘tax returns, social security services, disability payments and federal employees’ wages – all information with significant privacy laws that protect it.

Humphreys explained that DOGE itself only sets “high -level policy” across the administration, and people working with DOGE are trying to implement this policy in agencies.

Two people affiliated with Musk, Doge and the President’s executive office are now employees of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice confirmed to court.

The two men now have access to the computer system used by Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service to cut more than $ 5 trillion in control for the federal government every year, Humphreys told the judge.

Elez and Krause are special government employees-the same contractor-like term that Musk also has as a new federal employee. Both Elez and Krause joined the government from technology companies in the private sector after Trump joined.

The two men do not have the ability to make changes to the Ministry of Finance’s payment system, nor does it believe that the Ministry of Justice believes that the employees have shared it or discussed it with someone outside the Treasury, Humphreys told the judge.

“It strikes me as likely that they have discussed information they have seen with other Treasury employees, but I’m not sure,” Humphreys added.

Humphreys said his legal team at the Ministry of Justice tried “to insure ourselves, and the court that information is not illegally disclosed to our knowledge.”

But the concerns of privacy remain over the holiness of the payment system, including social security number and tax information.

“We don’t have much facts except what’s out in the media,” the judge told the lawyers during the hearing.

The Treasury Department has long held the Bureau of the Fiscal Service’s Payments System opaque for all except a small group of State Treasures whose official tasks require their use of it.

“It is impossible to remove the egg,” said Nandan Joshi, one of the lawyers suitable for supremacy on behalf of federal workers’ unions, says the judge of privacy in the payment system.
