Chatgpt backed up after worldwide power outage

Chatgpt is back after a short power outage, with reports to the operating tracking site Down Detector Spiking to over 25,000 reports around the world at its highest.

Openai, The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chatbot’s owner, recognized the question on its Status pagewhich now indicates that ”incident is resolved ”.

During the power outage, those still able to see chats were greeted with an error message with reference to an “internal server error” while others were completely unable to load the chatbot’s web page.

The status side also shows that the problems were not limited to Chatgpt, where Sora and Openai API had also been affected.

Users took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration over the power interruption.

“Is someone at the moment able to log in to chatgpt. I was in it and had a discussion. Then suddenly everything was gone. I was trying to delete cookies and log in again. It still shows nothing! No previous conversations in the sidebar. No profile info at the top.

Another user, @smoofbets, posted “the moment you realize that chatgpt is down and you need to use your own brain,” while @chimneyygrif wrote, “How should I think with chatgpt down.”

Others on the social media platform pointed users to try Deepseek, a competing AI -Chatbot that has recently become prominent to proclaim capabilities on par with Openais Chatgpt.

This seems to be the second power outage of two weeks for chatbot, with the previous incident that occurs on January 23.
