Hornets -Inalyst Ripper Mark Williams to Brutal First Half In Wizards -tab

Without Lamelo Ball and Brandon Miller, Mark Williams is no worse than the other option when on the floor. Sometimes, and there is a case that needs to be made it all the time, he is the first option. Williams has to carry much more of the load than usual, but the flashes he has shown over his NBA career with Charlotte Hornets suggests he is capable of it.

Terrence Oglesby, one of Hornets’ half -time analysts, went into Williams during the break last night. Hornets were big for Washington Wizards, a team that had seven wins at the time. Williams’ effort level was in Oglesby’s eyes unforgivable.

“I feel good when shots miss. I feel good when mistakes happen. If at least there is effort, I can live with these things,” said Oglesby. “Mark Williams has put together a first half that I have never seen from a NBA -level starting center. Heck, maybe maybe university level.”

Oglesby said the effort was so low that Hornets had no choice but to turn him off for Jonas Valenciunas, but it led to open triangles because Williams did not run out to dispute the shots. It played a role in Hornets that allows an astonishing 46 quarterpoint point to the wizards.

OGLESBY added, “If you want to be the center of a franchise where they have invested in you, they have planned for you to be a core piece of what they will move forward, this effort is unacceptable”

Williams generally played better in the second half, but that wasn’t enough. Hornets cut the 23 point half -time deficit to five late in the third quarter, but they couldn’t climb all the way back out of the hole and fell by 10 points. The center ended with 23 points and 14 rebounds in Hornets’ third loss this year to the wizards, who now have eight wins.
