San Francisco – Northern California catches a short break Wednesday from a Multiday atmospheric river event that brought heavy rain, flooding and high wind to areas around and north of San Francisco, but a third softening storm cluster until the end of the week.

The same event brought snow to them in the mountains and higher heights in northern California.

According to the Fox Forecast Center, the rain is expected to drain in northern California on Wednesday and switch to southern California, where it can help end the region’s fire season as societies recover after the devastating Eaton and Palisades Fires.

Meanwhile, another storm will affect northern California from Thursday morning. This event is expected to be somewhat less effective than the tall wind and mud lids during Tuesday’s storm that caused a home to collapse in Sonoma County, California.

Especially areas north of Sacramento have seen the highest rainfall since Friday, with Paradise, California, reporting over 20 inches.

Winter Storm warnings associated with this storm have been issued until Friday morning to a large part of Oregon as well as Idaho and Montana.

The Sierra Madre series will also see heavy snow in California, with feet of snow expected on the eastern slopes.
