Weather Alert: Winter weather counseling for Thursday from 7 p.m. 07:00 to 19.00. Snow, gossip and freezing rain creates smooth travel.

Good Thursday morning

Stays very cold during before dawn and will prime the atmosphere of a certain winter rainfall that starts early Thursday.

ONE Winter weather advisory has been issued for Thursday. More on Thursday’s mess below. We expect another winter mix for the later part of the weekend… .and more snow is possible early next week!

Thursday forecast

ONE Winter weather advisory has been sent for Thursday for snow, gossip and freezing rain to influence our area. This is from 07:00 to 19.00.

Snow develops in the early morning commuting. Snow is likely to stick to any untreated roads immediately as pavement temperatures originally will be very cold

Snow will be widespread for a few hours and 1-3 ″ snow is possible.

Southeast wind will transport milder air into the region, and gossip and freezing rain will develop as a result…. The transition occurs first on the south coast. The snow hangs inland longer, and this is where we find the highest accumulations.

Up to an inch along the south coast of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. In the Providence area, a few centimeters are expected. Further inland (Foster, Glocester, Burrillville and Woonsocket), 3 ″ are possible. A glaze of freezing rain and some gossip follow the snow in the afternoon.

Snow/gossip/freezing rain and rain decreases of the afternoon but roads will probably remain smooth

Looking ahead

Friday will be quiet but breezy. With sunshine we have heights in the upper 30s. Another messy system arrives late Saturday night until Sunday morning

Accumulating snow is expected to develop during the night hours Saturday to Sunday and then switch to ice and rain before Sunday morning. Several centimeters of snow possible over the northern suburbs before the early Sunday morning
