America’s scheme for Gaza contains a lot to regret

DOnald Trumps The first two weeks in the oval office have shown plenty of jaw-dropping moments. Still, his proposal for an American “takeover” of Gaza on February 4 was extraordinary. He combined creepy ideas – ethnic cleansing and a deadly indifference to the rights of the Palestinians – with unorthodox improvisation over one of the world’s most indispensable problems. In his first period, Mr. Trump Abraham agreed between some Arab states and Israel, and in January he helped create the temporary ceasefire in Gaza that had avoided the bite administration for a year. It is possible that his latest intervention also shakes in the Middle East. The danger is that it wants the Embolds Hardliners and discourage America’s allies from supporting his efforts to promote stability.
