Shreyas Iyer says in the video, “I feel that this hole I got from international cricket has given me a lot of learning. To be honest I don’t run behind success, I follow a particular type of routine and preparation that will take me toward success.
During his time away from International Cricket, Iyer played an important role in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Triumphs.
Iyer also led successfully Kolkata Knight Riders to the title in IPL 2024.
“Look that I always say I love staying in the present and I have been grateful that I won so many championships in 2024. But the more I do the things that I continue to repeat every now and then, It inevitably gets me the result.
After last playing for India under the Sri Lanka Tour in August, Iyer held his place in the Indian team for the England ODI series and Champions Trophy.
Iyer had a bleak excursion on Sri Lanka ODIs as he could only muster 38 races in the three matches in a low average of 12.66. But the 30-year-old Mumbai dough jumped back in style in the domestic season 2024-25.
Iyer continues in the video, “I never underestimate myself. I make sure I have no realistic thoughts, because when I have realistic thoughts, I personally feel that I doubt my abilities and you limit yourself to excellent. Because you see so many failures that people continue to talk about your abilities, your techniques and many of the other things so you just turn a deaf ear and at the end of the day that confidence is the most important point.
Despite the fact that he was priesting quite well in the ODD world championship in 2023 at home, Iyer was dropped from BCCI Central Contract List due to disciplinary issues that also included his absence from domestic competitions.
“I love being in the present, and that’s what I have to do, focus on the ODD series right now battle after battle. Learning, knowledge that I would win out of this specifically coming after a long time in participation in the team gives It is the chills every time I wear the Indian team jersey, the logo, emblem on my helmet, it’s a proud moment and I will definitely play the game with full energy and give my best, “Iyer concludes.

With a total amount of 4,336 races over 14 tests, 62 ODDs and 51 T20i’s an average of 39.77 and a fantastic strike frequency of 96.57, including six centuries, Iyer has established itself as a reliable middle order dough.
