Jackson, first round elections for wizards for butler, four second rounds

Philadelphia 76ers trades Reggie Jackson and a first round in 2026 to Washington Wizards in exchange for Jared Butler and four second rounds, per. NBA correspondent Marc Stein.

Wizards will send elections in the second round in drafts from 2027 and 2028 together with two more elections in 2030.

Stein reports that the first round Washington receives 2026 will be the least favorable of the three choices that Philadelphia owns in the 2026 draft.

Jackson, 34, has appeared 31 appearances for the 76s this year, an average of 4.4 points and 1.5 assists in just 12.2 minutes per day. Match.

Now in his 14th NBA season, Jackson is traded to the league worst wizards who have a record of 9-41.

Butler, 24, is an average of 6.9 points, 2.6 assists and 1.3 rebounds over 32 games played this season. He signed a one-year two-way contract with the wizards before the start of the campaign 2024-25.

An earlier round pick out of Baylor in 2021, Butler will now join his fourth team of four years after playing for Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and Wizards.


Holmgren (hip) to return to thunder

Even if Oklahoma City Thunder does not make a trade until the deadline, they still add a large piece to their starting lineup to the stretch drive.

Chet Holmgren is ready to return Friday against Toronto Raptors after a 32-game absence due to a right iliac wing fracture.

Holmgren, the second overall election in 2022 NBA draft, originally got a timeline of eight to 10 weeks after maintaining the damage in a game against the Golden State Warriors on November 10.

The Gonzaga product recorded 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in its first full season last year after sitting out in the entire 2022-23 campaign with a Lisfranc break in the foot.

Holmgren returns to a Thunder lineup that has played to the top of the Western conference with a record of 40-9.


Just hours left before the NBA trading deadline

NBA’s trading deadline is set to at 1 p.m. 15 ET / 12 PM PT Thursday, as even more star players could be on the go.

After one of the most shocking offers in the league history sent Luka Doncic to Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, the trading market has remained warm over the past few days.

Jimmy Butler’s trade saga with Miami Heat has been put to rest, with the team sending him out to the Golden State Warriors for Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson and a first round election in a complex four-team agreement.

Toronto Raptors also made waves Wednesday and acquired Brandon Ingram from New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, a first round and an unspecified election in the second round.

De’Aaron Fox, Zach Lavine, Kyle Kuzma, Khris Middleton, Daniel Theis, Mark Williams and Jonas Valanciunas were also just some of the many named moved before the deadline of what was to be a busy day for NBA front offices.
