Report: Detroit Lions hiring former NFL QB Bruce Gradkowski to Coaching Personal

According to a report from Adam Schafter has Detroit Lions Hired former NFL -Quarterback Bruce Gradkowski as an offensive coaching assistant.

Gradkowski enjoyed 11 years in the NFL and jumped around several franchises since he entered the league as a sixth round choice of Tampa Bay Buccaneers In 2006. During his career, he started 20 games while completing 375-of-709 passes in 4,057 yards, 21 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.

In the past two seasons, Degreekowski has served as the offensive coordinator of Xfl‘S/UFLS St. Louis Battlehawks. In 2023, the Battlehawks finished in second place in XFL in the scoring, an average of 24.9 points per year. Match. After moving to UFL in 2024, Battleahawks remained the second best in offensive scoring, an average of 26.0 points per Match, just behind the possible master Birmingham Stallions (26.5 ppg).

It is unclear the exact role that Gradkowski will earn from the Lions staff, whether a general offensive assistant role or a positional role. It is worth pointing out that Lions’ Assistant Quarterbacks Coach -Role is currently unemployed after JT Barrett took Chicago Bears‘Quarterbacks Coach Job, after former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

There does not appear to be any direct connection between Gradkowski and Lions’ current coaching staff, although the former NFL -Quarterback was with St. Louis Rams during 2008 training camp when Lions General Manager Brad Holmes was still a scout for Rams.
