Older person released from the vehicle after incident in the parking lot

An elderly person caught in a car was rescued by the fire department after a car had driven on top of a parked vehicle outside a supermarket in Taunton.

The incident took place yesterday afternoon (February 5) at the Morrison’s supermarket parking lot on the Priory Bridge Road.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said no one was injured and the incident was then handed over to the police.

A spokesperson for the service said: “Kl. 12.28 on February 5, we responded at a road traffic collision in Morrison’s parking lot in Taunton, where a vehicle had driven on top of a parked car and caught an older person.

“We successfully released the individual from the car below and helped restore the vehicle on top.

“No one was injured and the incident was handed over to the police at around 1 p.m. 14.00. ”
