Federal Judge order Limited Doge Access to Sensitive Payment System to Sensitive Tax Department

A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked the Government Efficiency Department (DOGE) from accessing certain Treasury Department Payment Registers.

Treasury officials “do not give access to any payment record or payment system for items maintained within (Treasury) Bureau of Fiscal Service,” Judge Coller Collar-Kotelly wrote in a temporary retention order.

This program handles an estimated 90% of the federal payments.

The order comes after the Ministry of Justice on Wednesday agreed in a proposed court decision to limit access to the sensitive items to only two “special government employees” in DOGE that will have read -only permission. Collar-Kotelly approved the movement in a short order on Thursday.
