Jaguars de Arik Armstead wins this year’s Walter Payton -mand

Jaguar’s defense end Arike Armstead was named 2024 Walter Payton NFL’s man on Thursday night at NFL HONORS.

Armstead is the second Jaguar player who won the award and joined Calais Campbell, who won the award in 2019.

He was nominated for the award for a fifth year in a row, four with the 49s and in his first season with Jaguars after signing as a free agent in March.

Armstead (31) and his wife Melinda established Armstead Academic Project in 2019 with a focus on giving students with all socio -economic backgrounds “with positive spaces, tools and academic support to unlock their potential and achieve their goals.” AAP now supports students in Sacramento, Bay Area and Jacksonville.

In addition to AAP, Armstead participated in Everbank Touchdowns for the Tomorrow program after arriving in Jacksonville. The program also focuses on financial literacy. Each of the 32 nominees received a donation of $ 55,000 in their name for a charity of their designation, while Armstead collected $ 265,000 for his charity.
