Resuming Lakers’ List of changes after 2025 NBA trade deadline

Los Angeles Lakers has been one of the most active teams in the NBA in the trading market, and the schedule now looks completely different with the NBA trading deadline that has passed. Of course, the team drew the most shocking trade in the NBA story to acquire Luka Doncic from Dallas Mavericks, but the move to acquire Center Mark Williams from Charlotte Hornets is also a huge deal.

LA also made an early step when they acquired Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton from Brooklyn Nets in a trade involving d’Angelo Russell,

Of course, you do not get players that Lakers have acquired without giving up much in return, and generally the schedule looks completely different from the one, the team felt on opening night. Whether it is enough to compete for a championship this season is yet to be seen, but Lakers has certainly moved the needle, and now it is about getting this team on the field and building this chemistry.

It is also important to note that lakers after their trades only have 14 players under the standard contract and open a place for a potential signature in the acquisition market. There are still some gaps to fill in this list, and the team now has the flexibility to get an influence player. However, Lakers cannot sign anyone who earns $ 12.9 million or more because of the limitations of being over the first luxury tax apron.

Some potential acquisitions or free agent opportunities they could look at include Josh Richardson, Jaden Springer, Patty Mills, Daniel Theis, PJ Tucker, Reggie Jackson, Lonnie Walker IV and Dennis Smith Jr.

Since Lakers has also traded both their first round elections of 2029 and 2031, the team cannot trade their first round 2028 or 2028. The team can choose swaps, as they did with their draft of 2030 and can also act the election after making the election , but not before that.
