Human remains found in the suitcase in NYC’s East River near the Governor’s Island; Police investigation

New York City (WABC) – Police are investigating after human remains were found in a suitcase in the East River on Wednesday.

The cruel discovery was made around 1 p.m. 5.30 pm when the NYPD Harbor unit picked up the suitcase in the East River near the Governor’s Island.

The suitcase was then taken to Pier 16.

EMS responded to the location and stated the individual dead.

The medical investigative office determines the cause of death.

No further details have been given.

The study remains in progress.
