PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and Adam Scott, a player director at PGA Tour’s political board, met on Tuesday with President Donald Trump in the White House, announced PGA Tour.

Monahan, Scott and Tiger Woods released a joint statement discussing the meeting as the trio discussed the future of professional golf and asked Trump to get involved for the benefit of the game and try to get an association of professional golf closer to the finish line.

“We know that Golffan’s eagerly expect a decision on negotiations with the Public Investment Fund and would like to thank President Trump for his interest and many years of support for the golf game. We asked the president to get involved for the benefit of the game, the good of the country and for all the countries involved. We are grateful that his leadership has brought us closer to a final agreement and paved the way for the reunion of men’s professional golf, “reads the joint statement.

Before winning the election last year, Trump said he could get the deal done in about 15 minutes. His course in Florida, Trump Doral, hosts a life golf event in April, the week before Masters, and he has performed several appearances at Liv Golf Pro-Am in recent years.

PGA Tour’s conversations with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund are underway, but there has not been much news about traction against a decision recently outside the players saying they are coming close.

Justin Thomas, one of the 16 PGA Tour players in 2025 Player Advisory Council, agreed that the presidents involvement acts as a good sign.

“Yes, I think so. I hope so. Yes, I hope it does,” he said.

With Trump involved, the finish line may be in sight.
