Super Bowl 2025: Arrest made in connection with the death of Kansas City Sports Reporter Adan Manzano

An arrest has been made in connection with the death of Kansas City sports reporter Adan Manzano while he was in New Orleans to cover the Super Bowl Lix.

Manzano, 27, was found dead in his hotel room in Kenner, Louisiana, Wednesday. On Thursday, Kenner Police Department said Danette Colbert from Slidell, Louisiana, had been arrested after she was allegedly found using Manzano’s credit card in several stores. She was also allegedly seen left her hotel room on surveillance recordings.

Police said surveillance recordings from the hotel showed Colbert with Manzano on the morning of February 5 and later left the room alone.

Colbert is currently facing charges related to fraud and theft, but the authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active.

According to police, Colbert has a story of financial crimes, including accusations of tricking men, stealing money and fraudulent credit card use.

The station also reported that the corone’s office said there were “no obvious signs of trauma” as it examines Manzano’s cause of death.
