Grillo Cards Hole-In-One at TPC Scottsdales famous 16.

The largest golf party had reason to celebrate Friday.

Emiliano Grillo made a hole-in-one on TPC Scottsdale’s famous par-3 16. During the second round of games on the Phoenix Open.

The Argentine stepped to the tee and cuddled an iron shot from 155 meters away high in the air and directly into the cup. Grillo jumped into the air and embraced and highly fitted his gaming partner, Rafael Campos, and his caddy as thousands in the stadium seating near Green broke out in the celebration.

Grillo became the 12th player to the ace hole since the Phoenix Open moved to TPC Scottsdale in 1987 and the first since Carlos Ortiz in the final round of 2022.

“It was perfect. Perfect number, just a full shot, pitching wedge,” Grillo told Golf Channel as he went up to the green. “It was a bit of a delayed reaction because we don’t see it really well (155 yards). Just the amount went distress, so did I.”

Fans in the packed, three-story stands sent beer and other drinks flying on the green. Tournament officials spent several minutes cleaning up the waste, raising bunkers and controlling the green for damage and keeping the next group up.

It was Grillo’s second career ess on tour, the other came on the 13th hole at Royal Portrush in the 2019 Open Championship.
