Suspect arrested in connection with the death of Kansas City Reporter in New Orleans for Super Bowl

Kenner, La. (WVUE) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of a Kansas City reporter who was in New Orleans on award to cover the Super Bowl.

Telemundo KC announced on Thursday, February 6 that Adan Manzano, 27, an anchor and reporter for award to cover the Super Bowl in New Orleans, has died.

Friday morning (February 7) Kenner Police announced that they have arrested Danette Colbert from Slidell after it was discovered that she was allegedly used by Manzano’s credit card in several stores in the New Orleans area.

Investigators say they have undergone security footage showing Colbert with Manzano on the morning of Wednesday, February 5th. Investigators also say Colbert can be viewed on video leaving Manzano’s hotel room later that morning.

Police say Manzano was found not reacting in his Kenner hotel room.

At this point, Colbert has only been booked for property crimes, according to police, which includes fraud and theft-related offenses.

According to police, Colbert has an arrest warrant that includes prior arrests related to being accused of having grown men, stealing cash, fraudulent use of credit and debit cards and other financial related crimes.
