The Senate confirms Russell Voughth as Trump’s next OMB Director

The Senate voted on Thursday to confirm Russell Vought as Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget. Voting of 53-47 sends Vought back to OMB, where he previously had the role of director against the end of the first Trump administration. His confirmation also acts as a de facto green light for Vought’s sweeping plans to restructure the federal government of President Donald Trump’s image.

The Senate Democrats fought harder to delay Vought’s confirmation than other of Trump’s nominations. Beginning late Wednesday morning and lasting at night until Thursday afternoon, the speakers held the Senate floor to shine against Vought’s promise to transform the executive branch and obtained congress. But given the Republicans’ Release of Trump’s Power of Power, the final vote was a forgiven conclusion despite Vought’s plans to make the legislature all outdated.

In the operation of OMB, Vought will now have the power to complete his vision for the executive office of the White House which he put out in A chapter in the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025. Even before today’s vote, many of the changes he had proposed were begun without him. Prior to the election, Vought suggested that he and other former Trump officials prepare a number of executive orders that would be signed on the first day of the new administration.
