Toyota remembers nearly 150 000 vehicles over seat belt, brake problems

(WKRC) -Toyota has announced a security call affecting certain 2024-2025 Tacoma 4-wheel vehicles and 2025 Toyota Camry and Lexus NX, as well as 2024-2025 Lexus RX models in North America. The recall involves approximately 106,000 Tacoma vehicles and 41,000 Camry and Lexus vehicles in the United States.

The Tacoma supplement treats a potential problem with rear brake hoses that can be damaged by mud and dirt accumulation in the rear wheels under off-road conditions. This damage can lead to a brake fluid leakage, which increases the risk of a crash. Toyota dealers replace the rear brake hoses with improved versions at no cost to customers. Notifications to affected customers are expected in early April 2025.

In a separate revocation, Toyota deals with a non-compliance problem with the second-row center of seat belt in certain Camry and Lexus models. The seat belt may have been damaged during manufacture, which potentially does not meet the need for strength and increases the risk of injury in a crash. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the seat belt assembly for free. Customers will be notified in early April 2025.
