Crashed aircraft found after aircraft by 10 aboard disappeared in Alaska

A crashed aircraft with three dead people inside is found in Alaska during the search for a flight that disappeared Thursday with 10 people on board, the coast guard said Friday.

The crashed aircraft was found about 34 miles southeast of Nome, the coastguard said In an update about x.

“3 individuals were found inside and reported to be deceased. Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragic incident,” the Coast Guard said.

A Bering Air Cessna Camping car with nine passengers and a pilot on board started from Unalakleet, a community on the eastern coast of Norton Sound, Thursday and was heading to Nome about 140 miles to the west.

The flight started from Unalakleet at. 14.37 Thursday, Bering Air Director of Operations David Olson told NBC -attached ktuu about anchorage.

Radar analysis showed that around 1 p.m. 15:18 Thursday “This aircraft experienced a kind of event that caused them to experience a rapid loss of height and a rapid loss in speed,” Coast Guard LT. CMDR. Benjamin McIntyre-Coble said at a news conference on Friday.

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy said earlier Friday that he and his wife, Rose, “is the heart bridge of the disappearance of the Bering Air flight over Norton Sound.”

“Our prayers are with the passengers, the pilot and their loved ones in this difficult time,” Dunleavy said in a statement.

Nome and Unalakleet, in the western part of Alaska, are not served by the state’s highway system, leaving air and water or snowmobiling and tracking the most important modes of transport between the two.
