PG&E calls on residents to prepare for potential power outages

Power cuts are a frequent occurrence on the north coast, PG&E herds are always preparing for winter storms that can affect its service area.

Representatives of the tool company encourage customers to remain in safety during extreme weather, while monitoring real -time updates on power cuts through their online operating center. They also encourage residents to sign up for messages.

In preparation for a potential power outage, PG & E reminds the residents of having a charged phone, flashlights with work batteries, plenty of water available and then to disconnect appliances to protect them when the power is restored.

“Another security message for customers who are really useful during storms like this is that sometimes when we have these heavy winds, heavy rain, we will see garbage or trees hit our power lines and bring power lines down to the ground, then if you Are out and in your community and you see a reduced power line, you have to stay away from it, assume it is energetic, call 911 and call PG&E and we will come out and do the area for sure, “said PG&E spokesman , Megan McFarland.
