Significant step up in locations possible for England and Italy

England moves into the top band of seed plates for men’s rugby world championship 2027 if they can start the six nations with a smell and beat Ireland in Dublin this Saturday.

Steve Bondhwick’s team enters the championship ranked as seventh, which would place them in the other bond of seeds that things stand when the draw for RWC 2027 takes place on an yet non-trated date between the end of November Internationals and Start of 2026 Six Nations.

The world’s top six ranked nations will be placed in the top band and at least on paper receive a more favorable draw. England falls into this category at the end of this weekend if they can manage to win at Aviva Stadium.

Fifth place in the rankings will be theirs to take if they win by more than 15 points – something they have only achieved once in Ireland’s Citadel in the Six Nations era. England’s last win in Dubin, Full Stop, was back in 2019.

If Ireland does not beat England at Aviva Stadium, they will be replaced in second place in the rankings of New Zealand. A heavy defeat will result in them falling to fourth, unless France slides at home to Wales, in which case they would fall to the third.

A home victory for Ireland would have no influence on their location or assessment score, which means that South Africa’s two-point benefit at the top of the locations is safe, no matter what happens in the Northern Hemisphere this weekend.

Out -Winner has been one thing in the opening round of the last two Six Nations championships, where visitors won all six matches. The odds are stacked against this trend that continues, but Italy will go out to beat Scotland on Murrayfield for the first time since 2015 as they appear to build on their most successful championship campaign last year.

Azzurri will jump from Fiji and move into the ninth with victory, but another place is theirs to take if they repeat the score line from their victory in 2007 in Edinburgh (37-17). A win with more than 15 points would move Italy up from 10. to eighth and correspond to their highest ranking ever, and it would also put them across Scotland, which would fall to the ninth.

Scotland can only get a maximum of 0.35 rating to beat 10. Ranked Italy in Murrayfield, so it can’t improve the sixth while Wales is in the same boat, even if they pull one of the biggest shocks in the past six nations and do A number of France in the tournament’s opening match at Stade de France Friday night.

The good news for Wales fans nervous that their side will drop out of the top two bands of seeds (seventh to 12.) is that a defeat in Paris would not cause them to slide further down the rankings. Similarly, a win over Les Bleus will not see them restored to the world’s top 10, as they have too much reason to compensate, even with as many as three rating points to get hold of.

This weekend’s Four Rugby Europe Championship matches count all with the rankings, but just like the Celtic trio in Ireland, Scotland and Wales, none of the imaginative homemade homemade georgia, Portugal, Spain and Romania can improve their position as they play Much lower-ranked resistance in the form of the Tournament Commerces Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany respectively.

However, there are gains possible for all their opponents if they can cause a disturbance, especially Switzerland, who would jump to a record height of 25. If they beat defense champions Georgia on their rugby Europe Championship debut.

The Netherlands stands to win two places if they can convert last year’s almost miss out on Spain to a win, while a win for Germany away to Romania would result in them climbing back to the world’s top 30. Defeat of Romania will see them slide out of the top 20 for the first time in the history of the ranking.
