More than 2 million cases of grocery -lasting donut, pastries remembered

(WKRC) – FGF Brands has issued a nationwide recall of 60 donut products due to potential pollution with Listeria Monocytogenes, a bacterium that may be fatal to vulnerable populations. The recall, Initiated on 7 JanuaryWas designated as a Class II Access to US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Wednesday.

The affected products distributed over the United States and Canada include 15 Dunkin ‘products such as Munchkins, Apple Friters, French Crullers, Paczki cakes, cakes and cinnamon rods. The recall affects all products produced before or before December 13, 2024, and involves 2.017,614 cases of grocery-sold donuts and cakes.

Listeria monocytogenes pose a significant risk to young children, fragile or older individuals and those with weakened immune systems. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identifies Listeria as the third leading cause of death from food -borne disease in the United States with approx. 1,600 infections and 260 deaths annually. For most people, listeria infection results in symptoms similar to food poisoning, such as fever, muscle pain and vomiting, which typically resolves within a few days. However, pregnant persons face serious risks, including pregnancy losses and life -threatening infections for newborns.
