Millions of Donuts, Baked Goods Sold Nationwide Remembered Over Listeria -The Discharge Problems

Food and Drug Administration quietly announced a recall last month involving more than two million cases of donuts and other baked items sold under various brand names, including Dunkin. Data from the FDA says 2,017,614 cases of products are part of the recall and involve donuts, fritters and cake rings.

The products were distributed and sold nationwide. While the recall was issued on January 7, the FDA never gave a public notice of it.

The entire list of recalled products can be found here. The recall involves any of the said items “within the expiration produced 12/13/2024 and earlier” according to the FDA. 60 different items are involved in the recall.

The recalled goods were produced by Indiana-based FGF, LLC and remembered over possible pollution involving Listeria Monocytogenes.

The FDA gave the revocation of a Class II designation which, according to the agency’s website, means that the revocation is “a situation where the use of or exposure to a violation product can cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health health consequences, or where the probability of severe negative health Consequences are remote. “

Listeria monocytogenes can cause “serious and sometimes deadly infections in young children, fragile or elderly and others with weakened immune systems,” according to the FDA. The symptoms include: high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
