Tennessee Basketball is heading into the grinding in its February plan.

No. 4 vols (19-4, 6-4 sec) play four of their next five matches on the road starting at Oklahoma (16-6, 3-6) Saturday (noon one, ESPN) in Norman, Oklahoma.

“Without a doubt in my mind, they are as competitive as someone we want to play this year,” said Vol’s coach Rick Barnes Friday.

IGOR MILICIC JR. is another offensive catalyst for Tennessee

Igor Milicic Jr. stacked two of its best games in Tennessee in his last two.

The senior front is an average of 20 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He has made 6 of 11 3-Pointers and is 14-for-20 shooting in these matches against Kentucky and Missouri.

“I think when Igor plays well, it removes pressure from everyone,” Barnes said.

Milicic emphasized that he was most proud of his departure against Missouri. He also had four blocks and two steals against Tigers in a complete game.

“Good size,” Barnes said of fear. “Looking the floor well. I look at the coaching staff and they have done a really good job of putting him in positions he needs to be in to be effective. “

Porter Moser is a well -known coach leading an unknown opponent

Tennessee sees a disposable enemy on the sidelines of Oklahoma.

“His team, they protect,” Barnes said. “The Will does some different things and shows you some pressure in backcourt.”

As for Oklahoma, Tennessee has played ou once in the program history. Vols beat The Sooners 55-49 on December 13, 1968 in Knoxville.
