Multiple Snow Chancers in the Chicago area’s forecast – NBC Chicago

After an icy start to the day on Thursday, the Chicago area could see more chances of winter weather in the coming days, including snow and colder temperatures.

A windy Thursday night will lead into some cold overnight temperatures, with wind cooler diping into the individual digits in front of cooler conditions in the coming days.

Friday should see dry conditions across the area where heights only reach the low 30s.

The next chance of rainfall to the Chicago area comes on Saturday afternoon as a fierce storm system pushes into the area. Although at this point it is unclear whether the system will primarily bring rain or mixed rainfall to start, it seems that temperatures will cool enough in the late afternoon and early evening that it could end with light snow over the area before It moves to the east in the late evening.

Clouds will continue in the area on Sunday and Monday, but the next chance for winter weather could arrive on Tuesday. Although no significant accumulation could be expected, easily snow could fall over the area during the daytime, causing some travel questions on untreated roads.

Another chance of snow could continue with Wednesday, according to extended forecast models.

In addition to the several chances of snow midweek, temperatures are expected to fall, with heights that only reach the low to the middle 20s throughout the area, according to the NBC 5 Storm team. Temperatures will slowly warm towards the end of the week, but the readings are expected to remain below their seasonal average for most of the coming week.
