Television awards from the Country Music Television Awards have been canceled in the midst of the merger of paramount paramount Global with David Ellison’s Skydance Media. By 2024, the CMT prices were held at the Moody Center on April 7, marking its second year the ceremony hosted in Austin.

This cancellation follows the Paramount Global Stoping of other events intended for the first part of 2025, including the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAS), the Mexican edition of Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and MTV Miaws (formerly called MTV Millennial Awards), a Ceremony Honor Latin American Music. However, the company’s Video Music Awards and Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards remain unaffected.

News about CMT Awards -annullering came from Paramount Global Executive Bruce Gillmer in a Staff Memo obtained by Hollywood Reporter. In the note, Gillmer said the company will use the merger to “Reimagine and optimize (their) event slate in the future.”

“Our world -class events remain a key component of Paramount’s music offerings as we continue to raise the bar in delivering iconic, unforgettable performances and moments that drive pop culture,” Gillmer continued.

“We have the best team in the industry and we are grateful for your hard work and dedication to bring these events to life.”
