Newcastle 3-2 Birmingham (8th February 2025) Game Analysis

Birmingham, England, February 8 (Reuters) – Joe Willock sacked a stag as Newcastle United fought back from a goal down after 40 seconds to beat the third level Birmingham City 3-2 on St. Andrew’s Saturday and reach the English FA Cup fifth round.

League One leaders Birmingham shocked their Premier League opponents who made nine changes to the page that beat Arsenal in the midweek to reach the League Cup final when Ethan Laird opened the scoring from the first corner of the game.

In a quick and hectic first half, Willock equalized the scores in controversial way.

Goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell pared his shot, but the assistant judge marked that the ball had crossed the line and without was at this stage of the competition stood the goal.

Callum Wilson stuck home five minutes later to send up Newcastle 2-1, but Birmingham equalized in the 40th minute through a long-range Tomoki Iwata strike who gave goalkeeper Nick Pope no chance.
