Mavs fans protest, call GM’s firing outside first home game since Doncic Trade

Dallas Maverick’s fans are still facing trade with star guard Luka Dončić last Sunday and ahead of their first home competition since the agreement went down, makes their feelings known.

Well over an hour before their 7 p.m. 15.00 One-tip-off against Houston Rockets, gathered fans for a protest outside the American Airlines Center-Holdt Character and Song “Fire Nico!” With reference to Maverick’s general manager Nico Harrison.

Here is a video of the protest, caught off The athletic‘S Jon Machota:

Signs Sported Proverbs such as: “Loyalty Dead #Firenico,” “Loyalty disappeared” and “Trade Nico.”

In a back-door agreement with Los Angeles Laker’s General Manager Rob Pelinka, Harrison Dončić, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 election of the first round. The jazz was also involved and received the Lakers guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, a 2025 Los Angeles Clippers second round (from Lakers) and a 2025 second round pick from Mavericks.

Many believe that Dallas could have landed far more for Dončić if they had put him on the open trading market, which explains the extreme pushback against Harrison.
