About Miami:

It’s been less than two years since Miami crashed the last four in the fist time in program history. It feels more like two decades.

The hurricanes followed up this effort last season with a fantastic losing season, ending the campaign and losing their last 10 competitions. Things have gone even further to the south this season, when Miami came to a 4-8 start before Jim Larranaga, the most successful rus in the program history, announced that he was stepping down on December 26. The team lost its first nine matches in the direction of preliminary head coach Bill Courtney before finally beating Notre Dame last Saturday.

The biggest thing that stands out by this disaster in a season for U is just where Abysmal Hurricans have been defensively. Miami enters this weekend ranked 345 in the country in adjusted defensive efficiency. There are 364 teams in Division-I. To put this into perspective, the Louisville team, which won only four games two seasons ago, was 31 seats better in adjusted defensive efficiency.

Whether the cards have Chucky Hepburn or not, they should be able to get what they want on offensive in this game.

Offensively, Miami has actually been mostly OK. Hurricans are a respectable 60. In the country in adjusted offensive efficiency and are an average of 74.9 points per year. Competition.

Senior guard Matthew Cleveland, There played his first team seasons in Florida State before transferring to Miami last season, has been the team’s biggest bright spot. In the conference, Cleveland is an average of 21.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per year. Battle while shooting 53.6 percent off the field. Cleveland has scored in double figures in nine of the 10 matches since January 1st and a total of 20-Plus points in eight of the 10 competitions. He is a strain at the offensive end.

Second leading goal scorer Nijel Pack Haven’t played since December 10 due to an lower body injury and there has been no indication that he may be returning to court on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Spider Brandon JohnsonAn East Carolina transfer has been up and down this season, but mostly recently. Johnson has found his rhythm on insult again, an average of 14.0 points per Battle in the last three competitions. After starting the ACC Play 1-for-24 from 3-point reach, Johnson has turned down 52.9 percent (9-of-17) of his shots from beyond the arch in the last three games. Forward has also led the hurricanes in rebuilding each of the last three competitions, an average of 7.7 boards per year. Match. Johnson played all 40 minutes in the team’s win over Notre Dame last Saturday.

If there is reason to hope that Miami will enter this game, it is that they have played significantly better in the last few weeks than they were at the beginning of the Courtney takeover. After losing three consecutive matches by more than 30 points, the hurricanes of Cal took overtime, played a decently close match against Virginia and knocked the fighting Irish.

These have all been good steps in the right direction, but this is still undoubtedly the worst team in the ACC at the moment.
