World’s Eyes at Birmingham for Black Sabbath Homecoming -Concert

Matt Lewis from Coventry remembered to meet Osbourne a decade ago when he was asked to give a balloon fall for a concert.

He heard a conversation in which Sharon tried to convince Ozzy to get millions of bubbles blown over the stage.

“Ozzy just turned around and said to Sharon, ‘Sharon, I’m the Prince of Darkness I don’t make bubbles’.”

Mr. Lewis continued to control balloon drops during the final trip, culminating at Birmingham’s NEC in 2017.

After a show in Dublin, Sharon demanded that the number of balloons increased from 200 to 1,000 for London and Birmingham.

“(It) was just spectacular,” he said.

“There was a blind panic to try to find 5,000 three-foot overnight and we got them.”
