Lakers did not give more details about their reason for scraping the deal, but online speculation immediately went to Williams’ long injury history.

The cancellation of the trade throws another element of upheaval into Lakers, which has won five equal and 11 out of 13 despite their tumultal list.

Their backup center against Pacers was 6-FOD-10 TREY JEMISON III, who joined Lakers less than four weeks ago and has played four teams in the last two seasons.
