NBC will regain the first ‘SNL’ prior to the 50th anniversary special

Just before celebrating 50 years of Saturday Night LiveNBC will return to where it all started.

The network emits the initial episode of Snl – then called NBCS Saturday night – Kl. 23:30 ET/PT 15 FEBRUARY, A EVENING BEFORE PRIMETIME 50 -YNNE anniversary. In addition, the NBC will be re -broadcast the documentary My ladies and gentlemen … 50 years of SNL -Music In Primetime on February 15th.

The first SnlIt was sent on October 11, 1975, hosted George Carlin and included musical performances from Billy Preston and Janice Ian along with sketches of the show’s original role watching Newman and Gilda Radner. Andy Kaufman also appeared on the show, and it contained a sketch with Jim Henson’s Muppets. (The episode is also in peacock Snl Streaming Library.)

The first episode – or rather, the chaotic minutes that led up to the premiere – was the subject of director Jason Reitman’s film Saturday nightwhich debuted in theaters last fall.

Recycling the first episode is part of a whole weekend with Snl Parties up to SNL50 Primetime Special.
