Saquon Barkley plays in the Super Bowl 2025 on his birthday

It’s a great day for Saquon Barkley.

The Philadelphia Eagles star became 28 Sunday, February 9-strain the day as he plays in his first Super Bowl ever.

Barkley tells people that playing in the Super Bowl is “The Best Birthday Gift” he could ask for. “The only thing better than it is to win the Super Bowl on your birthday,” says the fiancĂ© ran back.

His birthday celebrations have been put on wait in the middle of the big game Barkley shares. “It’s Super Bowl mode.”

It has not been an easy journey for Barkley, and when he was asked what a younger version of himself would think of who he is today, Barkley people say, “he would be super proud.”

“Not just being here, but the adversity and injuries and never quit,” Barkley adds. “And I still remember the conversation I had with my dad when I was younger and when I almost stopped. He said, ‘You stopped one thing in life, you will be a quit for the rest of your life . ‘ And that’s what always stuck with me.

“So I think I would definitely be proud, but also say that the goal is not only to get there and the dream was not just to get into the Super Bowl – it’s to win it.”

Barkley wants support from his friends and family as he and Eagles take on Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs.

A person that Barkley credit for his success is his fiancé, Anna Congdon. The couple has two children together and Barkley recently confirmed to people that they are engaged.

“I would be naive to believe that I have done it and all the things we are able to achieve this year were all alone and by myself,” says Barkley. “I can’t be the athlete and have the success I have so far in my career without the help of (Congdon) and she has been super helpful and always had my back.”

“It’s a beautiful thing,” he adds, “because we have two amazing kids we bred and we just lean back and laugh sometimes when they’re over there and just smile and think about where everything started.”

Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles face the 2025 Super Bowl and will be released on FOX on Sunday, February 9 at 1 p.m. 18:30 ET.
