Southern University Male Nursing Students Celebrated on Super Bowl

Baton Rouge, LA. (WAFB) – The men of Southern University School of Nursing (Suson) step on the national scene at the Super Bowl Lix in New Orleans.

According to the university, the students participate in the prestigious Super Bowl -breakfast. This event will highlight Suson’s obligation to diversify the health work force with a special light on his cohort of over 35 male nursing students.

This party comes after Suson created history with his biggest class of black male nurses. The university said that 33 black male nurses were enrolled in their program, making it the largest number they have had in the nursing program at once.

“The men in Suson have consistently demonstrated expertise, leadership and professionalism, and their participation in the Super Bowl Lix is ​​another testimony to their growing influence,” said Sandra Brown, Dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health. “Participation in the Super Bowl breakfast along with the NFL experience gives them a unique opportunity to engage in influential professionals and show the legacy of Southern University School of Nursing on a national stage.
