Patrick Mahomes opens up for ‘good problem’ with Rashee Rice’s return

Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs are set to appear in their fifth Super Bowl since he took over as a starting in 2018, after he had already won three titles during this period. Chiefs remain without broad recipient Rashee Rice, who underwent an operation to repair his LCL and hamstring after suffering a season ending injury in week 4.

The two-time NFL MVP recently weighed in on the absence of its top wide recipient from the 2023 season. In a speech with the media on Monday, Mahomes said:

“No one really wants to talk about it. Losing Rashee Rice is still devastating. (He was out) was huge to us during the year – (and not in a good way). He has the chance to be one of those Best recipients in the NFL when he comes back next year.

Mahomes continued:

“And I think we have a good problem in the future where we have a few good recipients who are young and can play, and it also includes Hollywood (Marquise Brown). We want more than a no. (H /t si.com)

Rice finished his rookie season in 2023 with 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. He pulled 26 passports in 262 yards and a touchdown in four postal season matches, which helped Chiefs win the Super Bowl last year.

He showed up on his way to a star driving this year before his season -ending injury when he recorded 24 receptions in 288 yards and two touchdowns in three games.

The future of Patrick Mahomes-Ady Reid pairing

Patrick Mahomes has only played during a head coach Andy Reid, in his NFL career. Head coach Kansas City Chiefs turned to rumors around his future Monday and said:

“That’s not where I should. I love this and this is not where I am on. I mean I’m in the last part of my career. I got all that. I know today I’m not Ready, but you know if it’s one of these things, (where) suddenly you wake up and go, ‘Whoa,’ you know?

Reid is ready to train in his sixth Super Bowl on Sunday. He seems to be just the third coach in the NFL story to win at least four Super Bowls.
